AccesStream v1.0 was launched on the 14th of May 2009. AccesStream is an open-source Identity Access Management Solution developed by AccesStream based in Atlanta. AccesStream is designed to be modular, scalable and flexible in order to cater for different environments and configurations.

Ron Markezich Corporate VP of Microsoft Online has announced that adoption of the online platform has been slow. Ron Markezich reviled that consumer and business concerns include security and reliability.
“The most important thing for an organization to do is to think through their business requirements and how cloud computing might better address those” Ron Markezich said.

The Indian Minister of State for Home, Sriparakash Jaiswal, has indicated that the Indian government is looking into implement a national identity card scheme within the next four years. The smart card will be tested in 13 districts of India in time for the 2011 national population census which will allow a detailed database of citizens information to be collated.
“The unique identity card will help us curb illegal immigration. We have porous borders and there is a huge population from Bangladesh that has migrated into our country. They are the biggest threat, but not the only ones. The unique identification number will help us identify citizens of India and residents of India”
